REMEDIATION SALES EXECUTIVE & ESTIMATOR
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Sales & Estimating Professional to join our team in the Portland, OR metro area. This is a critical dual-role position where you will be responsible for both driving new business and performing the technical scoping required to bring projects to life. You will build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources while acting as the primary point of contact from the initial emergency response and site inspection through to the final estimate approval.
The ideal candidate is a “hunter” who enjoys the sales process but also possesses the technical discipline to produce accurate, profitable estimates. You should be a proactive self-starter motivated by uncapped earning potential and the opportunity to manage your territory as your own business.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new restoration opportunities in the Portland and SW Washington market. Build and maintain relationships with clients, insurance agents, property managers and referral partners.
Technical Scoping & Estimation: Conduct thorough on-site inspections of properties damaged by water, fire, or mold. Utilize Xactimate and DocuSketch to accurately scope the work and prepare detailed, comprehensive estimates that ensure project profitability and adherence to industry standards.
Client & Carrier Management: Act as the primary lead for new clients and insurance adjusters. Explain the restoration process, secure signed contracts, and negotiate estimate approvals with adjusters to ensure a seamless transition to the production team.
Sales & Marketing: Execute a systematic business development process to cultivate new commercial and residential prospects. Represent the company at trade shows and industry networking events to increase brand awareness.
Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals. Track and report key metrics such as lead-to-contract conversion rates, estimate accuracy, and overall project profitability.
Production Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Production teams to ensure the scope of work is clearly understood and executable. Maintain open communication to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet our high standards of quality.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in B2B or outside sales, specifically within the restoration industry.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with Xactimate and DocuSketch is highly preferred.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to “sell” a scope of work to insurance adjusters and property owners.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to explain complex restoration processes to non-technical clients.
Self-Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage a “moving” schedule of sales calls and site inspections.
Requirements: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to handle a flexible schedule, including an occasional on-call rotation for emergency service scoping. Must be comfortable in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs.
Full-time Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your total well-being:
• Pay: $65,000 Base Salary + uncapped commission based on sales and estimated project volume.
• Premium Healthcare: Choice of plans, including a 100% employer-paid medical/vision option after 60 days.
• Total Wellness: Robust Group Dental and Vision insurance.
• Financial Security: Basic AD&D Life insurance (employer-paid with medical plan enrollment) plus voluntary options and the OregonSaves retirement program.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual begins on day one, with annual increases based on years of service.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8-hour shift (Mon-Fri), with evenings/weekends as needed for emergency scoping.
Work Location: In-Office and On the road (Portland Metro/SW Washington).
